Afterword
Before you go.
Widen the horizon you were handed. Cross borders. Talk to strangers, and let the conversation run well past where it was meant to stop. Stand inside another person's view of the world long enough to lose your own for a moment. Then reflect, but not forever. Introspection, followed all the way down, has never built a single thing.
Step out of the race. The world will keep sprinting off without you, and the quiet trap is spending your one life trying to catch it. Find the work that fills you and begin it now. Badly, if you must. Slowly, if that is all you have. Wrong and moving will always beat right and waiting.
And guard your expectations, because they have a way of becoming your life. Set them past what looks reasonable. Chase the wildest version of the thing as if failure were simply not on the table.
None of this is advice, exactly. It is a description of the kind of person the coming years belong to, and I intend to find them, back them, and build alongside them. If any of it sounded like you, keep an eye out. I am only getting started, and so, I suspect, are you.
